Re: 323i Baur TC1
I'm not too good at keeping my own topics updated I see last update May 2010!
OK I haven't done too much since then, but I haven't been sitting still either! Here you go...
During driveline work late May 2010 I found out the car had a limited slip diff fitted from the factory, how's that for an easy upgrade!
Had lots of trouble with lack of balance on the propshaft. Turned out to be caused by a brand new but cr@p quality WallothNesch guibo flex disc. Rubber is too soft causing vibrations and because the guibo gets out of shape it hits the shifter axle ruining its oil seal . This was not the first issue so this surely was my last order with WN!
Then, just in time for another E21 Alps trip (and we did another one in 2011) I did the Wilwood front brake conversion
Early 2011 I fitted the adjustable Alpina rear sway bar with new fittings. Less body roll!
Signing off with a nice action picture for now. Promise to keep you updated more closely but I have no work planned for the Baur at the moment, just driving it like on a Dutch E21 trip this Saturday, promise you a photo report. And I need to spend some time with the E30 this spring!

Re: 323i Baur TC1 convertible 1981 - Swiss import
I see I'm a few updates behind here!
Last year around the same time we posed for the Dutch official BMW magazine
The past winter I haven't done too much, fitted new headlights to get rid of the glazed old units
And a new trunklid. Was already thinking about getting rid of the rear spoiler and a falling stone causing a dent in the trunklid helped making the decision. I kept the original one so I can always go back to the rear spoiler, but I think I like the new clean looks better
Plans for this year? Not much really, but after fitting the Wilwood brakes at the front I will upgrade the rears with E30 examples somewhere the next couple of weeks as the E30 calipers are easy to modify to fit the E21 (not my work btw, Arnold D did a great job on that, many thanks!). They do brake slightly better and for the E30 units you can still get Ferodo DS2500 pads Will post another update when fitted.

Let's try to keep this up to date as well for once! E30 rear brake calipers fitted this week.

Thanks! It's had a partial respray after some scratches from 'normal use'. Not a sign it has ever seen any damage and the bottom, engine bay, etc all is original, never welded, sprayed or anything. So apart from some paint it's fully original, well with some goodies added lol.
