Small classic airshow today

There was a small classic airshow today at the local airport. They maintain a lot of DC-3's so these were outnumbering the rest. But I enjoyed the other stuff as well, a Spitfire at full throttle isn't too bad either...

Image

After that we had a Fuga jet torturing our ears and we ran off to other jet engined stuff. Placed a small puppet beside it to make the engine look big :P

Enough DC-3's that are still marvellous machines imho, and a DC-2 Uiver replica

Hey,

Again nice pictures Jeroen. It is a shame that they do not have such airshows here at Gilze-Rijen.

Thanks guys!

Michel: always been a fan of planes, especially the older stuff, same as with cars actually :D but not real active, I have enough comsumeing my time and money already :P

Gerrit: haha great proving my point exactly  over here owners of classic cars are allowed in for free as well at this event but I didn't have all day, and the weather forecast wasn't too good anyway (however the weather turned out not so bad at all)

Hey,

I did not know that people which came with an oldtimer had free entrance at such airshows. Is that everywhere?

Dunno, but I've heard it before, so if you hear of an airshow check their website. I'm not that active when it comes to airshows so usually I hear of them in the news at the end of the day :?

Don't know if it's a DC-3 or a C-47, but I saw this on holiday in Venezuela last year

Could do with a refurb before hitting the show scene...

Oops missed out on your post Madmax, but no matter how sad it's a beautiful picture. DC-3 or C47 are basically the same, except for the C-47's barn doors :P

Hmmmmm the Aviodrome museum where I took the photos on top of this thread, filed for bankruptcy yesterday. Hope the place can be saved :?
