well after some interesting convo in another thread i decided that i will have a crack at making my rear lights a nice clear colour!

well i went to my local focus store and purchased a bottle of caustic soda, cost me 2.99 and was 500g of powder, oh and bought a bucket for a whopping 99p.

right i filled the bucket with 5 litres of cold water and then emptied the whole lot in there,
fizzed loads n stank like crap after i gave it a bloody good stir then dunked the lights into the bucket.
where i spilt some onto my window ledge in stripped the paint nicely off

Image
here is me looking excited

and here is how it looks after 40 mins in the bucket
Image
oh dear no change
i guess i need either more crystals or maybe use a concentrate and paint it on like nitromorz
hold on why not use nitromorz.
what do we suggest then peeps

ooooh  you must have bought some cheap shit mate, i bet if you drank the stuff it do no harm.... also nitromors will ment it on the spot . dont bother.... well that was an upsetting result!!! ok an company many yeas back called abcdesigns used to make the rear lens light for the e21 and the front indicators, but no longer does it and am talking about a long time ago.... so maybe that black e21 with the clear lens maybe from that company.. suppose we should find out who owns the car and ask him sone questions...

You need to add some aluminium fillings to activate the caustic, used to use loads to clean catering equipment, my dad has a tank of 2x2x2m full of it, when it goes it will pobably melt that bucket

its not glass its plastic, and as for the colour, it would be hard to make 2 separate plastics of different colours meet and as there is a clear section then the red and orange must be added after i guess,
well i have loaded the bucket and lenses into my car tonight ready to bring to the ace cafe tonight, if anybody has any other chemicals or sumin which we can have fun playing with then bring em along. its all in the name of fun.
was tempted to borrow the big can of nitric acid from next door, cos anything with acid surely has gotta be fun!.
not sure where im gonna get aluminium filings from for jasons suggestion

 the end resuly is if we bring some chemicals to mix and get something goin it may go up with an explosion   can you imagine we all get done for creating a chemical bomb or something and end if in the cells over night and front page the next day with all our E21 cars in the pictures. 100% publicity..  got to say your brave driving around with a bucket full of casutic sode in the boot to ace cafe.
