The US and all its political correctness

Ok so as you all know, like 90% of the world celebrates christmas. Now for about the last 7 or 8 years here in the US, no body says "merry Christmas" anymore, they say "happy holidays" as to not offend the jews and whatever black people celebrate kwanzaa. Im a christian and i celebrate the birth of christ but if someone said to me "happy Hanukkah" id say it right back. I have a couple of jewish friends who'd say the same to merry christmas. So basically i think no one actually gets offended, its just a stupid thing made up by the US government.

Im curious to hear your take on it because most of you arent in the states.

in the netherlands, it is usual to put christmas trees everywhere, in our living room, schools etc. (happens in every country presume).

but one college school came to its conclusion, that putting up a christmas tree would affend the muslims living in holland, so they did'n put a christmastree in the central hall.

yeah right. as if i go to turkey, the muslims will stop having rammadan or so, because they think i would be affended by that.

i think they just should adapt to the western holidays and stuff, but they are just being selfisch and conservative.

The irony of it in GB is that all faiths are mostly tolerant (with the exception of a few trouble makers) of Christmas festivities, yet the authorities like to decide on our behalf. I'ts like with the Union Flag: In the USA, everyone is proud to fly the Stars And Stripes. You try flying the Union Flag in the UK you get someone from the Council telling you it's not PC.
