The BMWCCGB are on the hunt for 35 e21s for a key event in 2010.Methinks probably Gaydon. There are also plans for a joint E21/E30/E36 meet and Jon Newitt is planning an e21 event also.I don't know Jon Newitt.Do you? 'd
It just shows the power of the press. Now everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.
Just thought i'd hang that out there for you all.
i'll just get a beer and some doritos..........

The BMW Car Club (GB) created the bandwagon - club is the official BMW club. This event was planned a long time ago in the BMWCC(GB), there are numerous posts on this forum on the subject.

Keep up m8 :)

Yup it's about Gaydon and I believe John is the chairman of the E21 Register of the BMWCCGB.

Event is scheduled for August 15, 2010. Sadly I can't make it as the German Oldtimer GP (including historic F1) is the same weekend and I'll have to take photos there.

You throw your hat in the ring by parting up with around 40 quid for a BMWCCGB membership.

7 months later and still nothing from the BMW CC and it's e21 registrar. So much for the ''key event'' that was being planned. I've seen or heard nothing. In contrast the 2002 owners are on the ball and have everything in place for next Sundays event thanks, in no small part, to an active and enthusiastic registrar. If they were searching for 35 e21's, then they weren't looking hard enough. We've had half that number rock up to the Ace Cafe on an informal Monday night FFS!

As per usual, the BMWCC don't give a toss about the E21. The guy who supposedly 'runs' the E21 register doesn't give a rodent's rump and to be honest I don't think the CC do either.

I have just a reply to the email I sent to the BMW CC as the bottom line is that unless we make a block booking we'll be stuck in the public car park. I have made it quite clear just how disappointed people are going to feel and just what a lack of input the supposed Registrar has had.

I can make a block booking for us that will give us 10 spaces but I cannot afford to pay £90 if people are not going to actually show up in their e21's. We need 10 cars to show up and represent UK E21 owners.

I know its short notice but who can make it??

Me - retrobeemer
Dave - e21 meister

I was going to add my name to this list but all this would get us is entry, we need to apply for the display passes separately.

I think i still get free entry to Heritage events with my works ID, but id still need a display pass. Do you need to be in the BMW CC to get a display pass?

Maybe the bloke trying to run the e21 register should step down and let a true enthusiast run it, maybe retrobeemer - What do you reckon ?

Seconded

Mr Forster vaguely says he will do something then is not heard from for months. A bit like me, but I am very busy and don't deny it. Nor do I pretend to run part of a car club.
