Newbie e21 build..the story so far *update 27/03/10*

Post by flawed4 »

Hello all,

Im new to the e21 scene and must say awesome website and thanks everyone as have been very helpfull so far...

I have just bought a E21 316 in hennarot red... 1 owner from new ,it came with new rear arches welded in and the sills replaced and has also had some welding done in the boot... plans wise get all the paint sorted and run it very euro on some 15/16 inch splits and probably far to low for most people..

So far i have started cleaning the paint off and trying to rescue the filler work on the rear arches... (if anyone lives near solihull and fancies popping round so i can see exactly what the arch line should be when not caked in filler that would be apreciated)...

I have also done a quick fix to the suspention to try and get it a bit lower (cut springs cough cough)... will be getting some gaz coilovers once i start getting paid again..

will get some calipers brackets off jason and a willwood set up with any luck

hopefully over the next couple of weeks i should have some rims and some old school front recaro's for it...

in the next six months i hope to have done some form of engine conv on it also..

bad pictures so far ...

started off

after some flatting, thinners and angle grinder.

oh and front view hopefully will be swapped out for the single head lamp grill in the near future

after .. i like the single lamp grill lots more

next is some coilovers as the getto bounce on the cut springs is boardering on dangerous and i may try the 16'' RS's i have for the MK1 on it for the summer ..

I took the corner at high speed, came in the ditch, drove straight through a garden, flipped over 4 times and then I lost control of my steering-wheel!

Got a little bored today so thought ide try the rs's against it to see what it looks like ... I was going to colour match the centres but quite like them with the black as seems to tie in with the trims ..

and think it needs a spacer and some bigger dishes
