a few pics post wash and wax!

Post by pistonheader »

here are a few pics i took of my car earlier after i gave it a quick wash, and a lengthy wax! took me almost 2 hours to wax it properly! i don't bother washing the wheels any more....you will soon see why :)

your car is in really nice condition.

you should have done the wheels if you was at it for two hours!

thanks :) i hate the wheels on there at the moment, i wouldn't mind if they were nice and not rusty  the previous owner (or one of them...) put some chrome bits on them, which dug into the wheel to hold tight, so where it did that it just rusted those areas away. i took the chrome bits off cos they were wonky and made a funny noise. i just want those BBS wheels on now, need to buy some tyres first!! where the car has been lowered 60mm they might rub on the arches. if so, i'll be getting the arches rolled slightly. going to fit 195/55's all round, though if it's too tight at the front 195/50's should be fine, but with 55's at the rear still.

cheers

you crazy Dutch folk!

viewed up close under bright light the car has a lot of swirl marks and scratches, most particularly the boot. i don't think the car needs a respray but wouldn't mind taking my car to KDS Keltic, look at what they did to an E38 740i.

what you reckon? they get better finishes than a respray. it's detailing/paint correction. they get a lot of brand new cars in to improve the finish. i think it's incredible. but it's not cheap!

don't even want to know jeroen

thanks for the comments everyone. in the summer i'm going to try and spend 2-3 days detailing it: snow foam, wash, clay bar, polish, seal and wax. the sealant i've been recommended lasts 12months, and protects against all that nasty salt, bird shit etc. wish i knew about it before the winter!!!

problem being my E21 is my only car. so it's my run around as well as pride and joy! don't want it rusting

ooooh, I know us europeans have different ideas of things generally but over here, its not a custom to look for a dogs dick in the moonlight....

dannyboy, you must be having fun in the moonlight then, better keep away from midnight dogwalkers in the park, can you imaging being spotted conducting the " Five Knuckle Shiffle " in the moonlight watching a set of dogs balloxs.
