had radiology yesterday which went ok. a few questions were quite tricky but deffo passed. sorta questions we get (one from the paper):

32 year old female presents with intermittent low back pain of 18 months duration. this began after the birth of her 3rd (her last) child. there are no radicular symptoms and the pain is described as a burning pain. she points to the PSIS area. your radiographs show a large triangular area of sclerosis on the iliac side of the SI joint and this is symmetric and bilateral. the joint looks fine. there are no additional abnormalities. what is your diagnosis?

OSTEITIS CONDENSANS ILII BABY!!!!

next week gonna be a bitch though, 2 hardest exams monday and tuesday (neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, followed by pathology  ) then another wednesday, last one friday :D

dunno how i'm gonna survive but looking forward to next week. gonna be a shit weekend. i've been up revising since 7am and i finished last night at 10.45 :(

uni is shit, not the best days of your life in my opinion

anyway...back to work

Wow makes my degree seem so insignificant lol!
Good luck with the rest...and you won't be saying that about uni when you're done...I wanna go back!

Nothing like 3 years of fun, with a few exams/coursework/projects thrown in every now and then! Much better than an office 9-5, trust me! (or in my case 8-3.30 hehe gotta love flex time!)

When I move back home for a bit I'm going to get my ass in gear though and find a more fitting job to my talents!

sadly hannah, it's 4 years of almost hell, with only a few good times thrown in

this year, 7 written exams in the exam period, plus the 4 practical exams which started the term off

one good thing was a trip to bristol medical school to look at cadavers which was pretty interesting. did it last year but this was for neuro...i held a real brain

Would be absolutely great for winding up your neighbours, especially if you left it on the bonnet of their car with a couple of eyes.
And a trilby on top.

The cadavers of course were preparing for Government. Or BMW 1-series ownership.

they generally didn't smell nice because of the fluid they use to preserve them (embalming fluid, i guess?) doesn't smell particularly great

i was wearing sexy latex gloves so it wasn't all that bad

they had whole brains and also dissected ones, we just had to identify different structures and describe their functions and connections etc. was just a revision session but really good seeing it in real life, makes it a little easier than trying to get your head (no pun intended) around it using pictures in a book.

done about 11 hours revision today, just had 30mins off and gonna do another hour before chilling for the evening. f*** hate this time of the year, no other word for it....shit!

I watched an autopsy years ago and expected them to put the brain back in the head. They actually just chucked it into the chest cavity with all the other bits and bobs! :?
