Indicators and wipers stopped working

Post by HaroldShand »

Hi people, can you help me please ?

Indicators and wipers have stopped working, out of the blue. Both were working fine yesterday. Hazards work ok.

Could this just be a fuse or is it likely to be something more sinister ?

I'm at all mechanically able so any advice you could give would be much appreciated. I've just moved to a new town (Leeds) and am grounded without my daily driver !

Thank you for our interest,

H

indeed the wipers and indicators are located under one fuse.

Try to look at the fuse number 15. Probably yoúr horn and windscreenwash wil not be functional also. The fuse can be OK but the E21 is very sensitive at the fusebox for corrosion. Clean up the fuseholder and it will be OK.

It's the fuse, if it keeps blowing then it is probably the wiper relay that thing sucks.

Fault traced

Thanks guys, turned out to be the recently replaced hazard warning switch that was shorting when off, blowing the fuse as you suggested.

Another triumph of the helpful e21.net forum !

Thanks again, H
