Chassis number info

Im trying to find out what colour interior was origianly fitted to a friends 1982 323i manual that he is restoring.

Does the chassis number contain any info as to what trim was fitted?

Its WBAAH32020C7277687

The paint code is 087/7 if that helps

We both work for a BMW dealer and they say its to old to get any info on.

If you send a fiver to dvlc they will send you copys of all the paperwork they hold for your car. you could then try to contact the first keeper and ask him/her about the interior ....(The first keeper of my 1975 car lives round the corner from where he lived in 1975 and drives a seven series now).....edd..
