Emission control remove

Hi I want to remove the emission control system from a Australia spec 323i, does anyone know how to do it and is it possible to run the car correctly with out the system?

are you referring to the catalytic convertor? if so then the answer is yes. your idle may change a little bit either up or down due to the freed up exhaust

Sorry my car dose not have the cat system, the Australia spec car had fit a system that were collecting the exhaust gas to the intake air box, for not polluting the air by cleaner exhaust gas,

the egr vavle. it can be removed but you will have to plug the plumbing for it. and does your car have a large charcoal filter that resembles a coffee can? if so that can most likely be removed as well. but when removing these items do so carefully as you may need them to put back on

If you want to go the full hog, you need to remove the egr valve from the back (valve cover) side of the inlet manifold and plug the hole, remove the exhaust manifold and unscrew air the air injector from each port (holes will need to be plugged), remove and plug all the lines from the exhaust manifold and remove the corresponding connections from the airbox behind the air filter (plug the hole). I did it the easy way and disconnected everything then installed a set of Hurricane extractors as a full set of plugs for the exhaust manifold alone will set you back about $60. I also just happen to have a second, new set of Hurricanes still hanging in my shed....
