Phantom Grip

BMW range let alone the E21 just the Mini, you might be barking up the wrong tree there mate

In another forum in Greece (general BMW-all series, all years) several people have fitted it in e36 and other models, (however not yet any E21 anyone AFAIK) and they seem to be very satisfied, they say that in some cases it works better than the lsd (depending on speed etc)!!!

As you must have seen for yourself in their website, it is not an lsd itself or even a type of diff, it is a total of parts to be fitted on your existing open diff, that will transform its operation, making it working like an lsd...So I can't see the reason why this shouldn't fit to an E21, I'll try to have a better look into the matter, though, as it seems that there is someone that deals the product here in Athens.
And the cost is more than a used lsd, but much less than a new quaife
So one pays something more than for a used diff and keeps using the car's existing diff the condition of which one knows (it's another point if one wants to throw it away for this exact last reason )

I just had a look in the greek site.
It says clearly that it can be fitted easily in ANY CAR, either RWD or FWD...

And they give (as they say) lifetime warranty....

Petros, would you rather fit a piece of metal to your diff to an old classic car or invest in an E21 LSD the proper way? what if this piece of metal destroys your diff/damage where you would need to change it?

Jimi, you are right...I just wanted to know if anyone knows the product or has tried it, just to have an opinion...

Besides, I am the last person to need an lsd or similar at the moment, with the engine I have...:actually, I am intending to fit smaller tyres+wheels than my current ones, just to have some fun (let it spin..a little), as the 15"x7"s with 195 tyres are definitely for more power than the 1600 (and it was my mistake to fit them just for the aggressive look) and they have so much (no phantom!!)grip that the fun is unknown word (let alone my car can't go faster than 155 km/h-it could do an easy 165 with the 185/70-13)

We run a phantom grip in one of our rally MGBs. It feels less aggressive than the Quaife we have in one of our other MGs, but is a nice budget compromise for fast road or mild competition use. In my 323i I am about to fit an original BMW lsd, uprated to 40% limited slip though. If you get an lsd, make sure to overhaul it as they tend to lose the limited slip characteristics by age/usage/mileage.
