my first E21 316 project

Post by myfirstE21 »

Hi all,

thought it was about time i got a project thread started so you can all see some pics of my car, its very clean for the age !

heres some pics when i first got her

then i opened the boot to find the original spare wheel with unused original michelin tyre !

overall i was pretty happy with the car,
it had been standing around for over 4 years unused and the brakes didnt work as the linkage to the servo was seized solid (was a interesting drive home! )

so i decided i needed to start stripping and sorting some bits out...... more to come

heres a inbetween pic of welding the diff up

Image

next up i cleaned it up under the bonnet, i also sorted out the brake linkage to the servo but i didnt get any pics of this, im sure you will all agree it looks alot better :D

Image

Image

i also put new brake pads, wheel bearings and flexi hoses on the front but i didnt get any pics of that

next was the wheel side of things, i like the wheels already on there but only for winter/wet weather use, so i bought me some BBS RM's in 6.5 x 15 and looked like this .......

Image

Image

Image

after trying them on i soon realised i needed to make the rears wider, so it was time for new dishes to make the rears 8.0 x 15

Image

Image

but then i decided i didnt like the colour of the centres so i had them refurbed by BJV Engineering

Image

and thats all for now as im skint lol !

i have all the parts in the post to fit twin webbers to the engine, so that should help perk the engine up abit and sound pretty sweet too :D

to be continued ........
