And abt one year ago Practical Classics Magazine was looking for a mint condition E21 323i in the UK for an article (I did place a 'wanted' message here back then)... then nothing turned up, now we see several of these minters here... good! Back then they decided not to run the article... why promote a car as a good practical classic if you can't even find just one!
Hello Jeroen,
Back in the late 1990s BMW GB used the car for several of their UK dealer launch evenings for the E46. The themed dealership events were called "Driving In The Blood", and they featured the; 2002, E21, E30, E36 and the then new E46. The cars were all present to help illustrate the evolution of the small sporting BMW saloon. I was pleased to receive several letters of thanks from dealership principles/managers.
Like yourself I hadn't realised that the grill badge was slightly to high. I will move it! To those of you with 20/20 vision, thanks for the heads up.
Yes, there are a lot of minters featured on the forum. These cars are a design classic and aestheticaly very pleasing. I particularly like some of the understated sleepers, and I'd include your metalic green baby on my wish list. Those 7" x 15" wheels are a delight! I must check my piggy bank.

Hello Tjaard,
I've owned this car since 1988 and it hasn't seen a spray gun in that time. Over the years I've done the usual waxoiling and replacing of serviceable components, etc. And this car has the usual worn driver's seat. I have got a rebuilt 323 engine which I intend fitting at one point - new Mahle pistons, .25mm oversize, etc... But the present engine has only covered 84,000 miles, and is still going strong, so there is no hurry. Last weekend I fitted a new off-side fuel tank and rear axle carrier bushes.
Regards, Steve.
