So,
I'm stripping a rusted out 323, and I am at the stage where I'm ready to pull the m20+gearbox...but after looking at the engine I can't see anywhere to attach my load-leveler on the front of the engine. The back "hole" on the tranny/block was in the usual spot, but nothing up front.
I've pulled e30 m20's, the 318i's m10, helped w/ s52 swaps... those engines all had an easy to locate bracket on the front of the engine to chain up on, no such thing on this 323's m20.
Is this normal? Or has the engine lost the bracket at some point during its 30 year life?
Or have I missed something obvious?
The only safe-ish spot I can see is the bolt in the head that holds the timing belt pulley, but I'm not very confident in that holding the weight of an m20+5speed ~6ft in the air...and I'm rather attached to the tranny and subframe.
Any advice on what I should do here?

Re: 323 Engine removal Question.
Normally there is a hole on the front of the engine, on top of the belt cover.
It's an iron piece between the cover and the head right on top.
If it's no longer there you can make someting and use the cover bolts to connect it to the head.

Anyways, problem resolved.
Just used two small 13mm bolts I took from somewhere on the car and put them into separate holes on the front of the block.
