does anybody know what this is for?

It has come out of the engine

I pushed it back on it´s place
I saw it beacause there was some oil on the radiator

It's just a cap. Any idea why it came out, or you didn't remove it completely to check?

BTW I think I see the old style chain tensioner... that one's up for a replacement then!

I have no idea why it came out

I removed it to have a look at it , then pushed it back
It is a small axe with an rubber o-ring to seal it off

old style chain tensioner ...
How can you see it?
I am not yet familiar with those s14 engines

Maybe better order a new one as it may be worn and may come out again.

that's the pivot for the upper, small chain rail...
