Good luck with the trip.
How long you planning on going for then??
If your going south , make sure you go to Utti in Bangalore, so the missus is saying.

Daniel,

Don't overlook the vast distances to cover within India, it's about the size of Europe! If you want to look around the Delhi region (Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Ludhiana) you'll need at least one week.

From there you could take a plane, either to:

Goa (Panjim 1912 kms) for a relaxing holiday

Bangalore/Mysore (Mysore is 2200 kms) for a visit to Mysore, Mudumulai National Park, Ooty (steamtrain trip in the mountains, tea plantations)

Kochi/Cochin (2595 kms) for visiting the old colonial town, backwater trip and Peryar Wildlife Sanctuary.

One of these will more than fill your days, if you don't want to hurry the Delhi area is enough for 14 days.

Don't expect to cover more than abt 1000-1200 kms a day by train and by car, I wouldn't recommend that!

Around what time do you want to go?

Hi jeroen..
Delhi is a stop and go point for us.. we land in delhi , stay that night then travel to ludihiana by train... stay at my friends fathers house just out side of ludihiana then travel out from that point... three days in total before heading down to goa... maybe we will drive down by car then fly back ... i would like to do the car (14 seater) , that way you can stop and stay were you like and get to see more of india if you know what i mean... maybe 20 days is pushing it though..
As for delhi ect ... we saw last year this year really want to head south. were flying out around May.

Almost getting boring now... made another trip to India, relaxing in Goa for a while and then Delhi, Agra (Taj Mahal) and a tour of Rajasthan covering Jaipur, Pushkar for the annual camel fair (largest animal event worldwide with approx 200.000 camels!!!), Udaipur and Jodhpur.

Just seen..very impressive.
Also it seems that the temps are much more better then here..
Some pictures are very beautifull (technical and the picture itselves!!)
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

Thanks. Indeed, it's not like being in another world, it IS another world. Travelling there requires a flexible mind and a good preparation... it's one of those things you either love or hate. If you're a control freak you will die over there, if you just trust things will all end up in the right place you'll greatly enjoy it.
