Hi All,
If i'm lucky i may be making my first e21 purchase in the very near future.....i have a few questions though.
The car in question has chrome arches....i know some of you will hate me for suggesting this but can they be taken off without any damage etcas i prefer without
I'm thinking of getting either the pax suspension kit of the Gaz coilover option.....i plan to get the Lenso BSX alloys in the staggered setup (think its 7.5 front 8.5 on rear) Will there be any issues with rubbing/spacers required. What ofsett is the e21...from what i've read its below et 20? How low can i go suspension wise with wheels like the ones mentioned?
Any help appreciated.
Chrome arches, suspension and alloys?

Re: Chrome arches, suspension and alloys?
Those chrome arch things usually come off OK but its what is underneath that can be the problem as they are awful moisture traps and cause rust.
Depends on what you want to spend on suspension. Gaz coilovers are way better than Spax imo but they cost way more too!
Ideal offset is ET13.

Re: Chrome arches, suspension and alloys?
Yeah thats my concern...the arches in the pics do look in good condition but like you say you never know whats underneath.
I'm not really to concerned with the prices difference as there only seems to be a couple of hundred between the two. Looking for that low rider look and dont want to be left wishing i had dropped more...what is the lowest drop you can get on spring/strut set?
So lets say i get the alloys et 13... 16", are any spacers required and any work required arche wise?
Cheers:-D

Re: Chrome arches, suspension and alloys?
Chrome arch's are wrong on every level, 8.5" is going to need an offset closer to 0, I doubt the lenso's come in the right offset so you will need some hub centric spacers.
You will probably need the arch's rolled and with a lot of drop you will have the VIP look at the rear unless you modify the trailing arm mounts with slotted adjusters

Re: Chrome arches, suspension and alloys?
Just been looking at wheels a bit further and must admit i'm a little confused byt the offset and spacers thing....what i'm looking for is as much of a dish as possible on the lenso's...can someone tell me what that would be and what spacers would be required to acheive....is deep dish on 16 inch acheivable?
