Strut bars in for everyday driving, not track use
Do you have one?
Have you seen significant difference than before?
Is it worth the money?

As a step to uprating your handling/suspension I think they are money well spent. I doubt you would feel much difference with the strut brace alone though unless you combine it with a lower Alpina style 'wunder bar' maybe?
Re: Strut bars in for everyday driving, not track use
front upper brace makes a difference
rear one you'll never need as all the sideways forces go thru the wishbones into the rear beam.
dunno about the wonder bar? is that the brace that goes inbetween the front anitroll bar mounts?

For.

I have one on the E30 cab, and have noticed significant improvement in steering response.

I'm guessing any braces would notice more on a cab?
I think for the cost they are well worth fitting. Lets be honest, they do look good too.

Re: Strut bars in for everyday driving, not track use
Defo for, affordable and easy to fit and the advantages are clear right away. Sharper turn in, no 'searching' feeling in the suspension ant the car gets almost completely insensitive to deep tracks in the asphalt. Perhaps it's needless to say all of my cars always have a strut brace.Only disadvantage:with fron damage the strut brace also takes the forces to the other side so the damage would be worse. But for me I believe a strut brace helps me prevent damage so I'd always fit it.

I fitted one, much better turn in now. a lot of cars come with strut braces as standard.

Re: Strut bars in for everyday driving, not track use
Guys, you mean there is a difference even on my 316 (1.6 not 1.8: = VEEERY weak) ?
And, how about these ones, then? http://www.wallothnesch.com/download/Aktion6_2010_e.pdf
There 's one from Hartge and there are some cheap ones...
Which one would you go for? I am now really starting to think to go for the Hartge one...

All the front ones I've seen look pretty much the same.

Re: Strut bars in for everyday driving, not track use
well the 2 front aluminium that walloth+nesch sell, have a very small difference in price, so why not go for the Hartge one?
Still I am thinking about it thought, as I don't know what the difference will be in my car that is not so fast

Re: Strut bars in for everyday driving, not track use
You can make one easily enough. It's just a bar that goes across between the front ARB mounts. You can see mine and where it goes if you look back thru the build thread.petroscf wrote:Mark, what is the wunder bar and where can I find one?
