i dont think you can fit anything from another bmw, although e30 seats go but you need to modify seat rails. the e30 rear seats are the wrong shape.

I disagree, the E30 rears fit fine but leave a slight gap before the seat base.

Here's when I fitted E30 seats in my old 316 http://bmwe21.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1895 . Those seats now live on in Pistonheader's 316.

If I was doing it again I would modify the car rather than the E30 seat rails as the seats end up on the high side and your legs are quite close the steering wheel. The E21 rails are stepped up in height from one side to the other, the lower side I suspect will bolt straight up to E30 seat rails. I would cut away the higher side seat mount in the car and make it the same height as the lower side.

I found the rear seat back from an e30 is a couple of inches too wide and leaves a slight gap where it's forced to curve away from the parcel shelf at each end. I should be able to cut through the wire seat frame and squeeze the end in slightly though. It's still the cheapest/easiest route to a leather interior imo.

Why do you say it's ugly?Is it the cloth or that they are comfort style or the colour?
There's one out there with my name on it.
