Quite the project you have given yourself. You said in an earlier video that you wanted to mate the v8 with a wrx gearbox. Any particular reason for this? As is availability, cost or because of the diff? Pardon my lack of knowledge on wrx running gear, but i always thought that the gearboxes were fairly weak and easily prone to breakage from increased power and torque, and that v8 would certainly be a strain. Wouldn't you perhaps be better off using a porsche gearbox from either a 911 or even a 944 turbo?

cost and availability mainly. porsche gearboxes over here are about $5k and wrx gearboxes are about $500. it will be strong enough for the little ute and there are upgraded gears available if i want to go that way later. converting them to transaxle is fairly simple too.

5K! Yeah i guess that would have a big impact on what gearbox to get.

About the colour... since the wheels are a rusty matte look, a gloss white / pearl colour for the car would go down a treat mate, or even gloss black. Just my input anyways since no one else is taking an interest in e21 forums WTF. Sorry had too much to drink.

Are you on holidays at the moment?

Anyways looking forward to tomorrows update.
