gold by spandau ballet reminds me of when had just left school and started my first job as it was on the radio in the van all the time (about the same time the seat belt law came out 1982/83 ?) ..... thinking about it makes me feel old !

Sticking The Crossing by Big Country on, preferably one of my vinyl copies - for some reason I have three! Reminds me of going to see them at the Manchester Apollo aged 15-16, full on checked shirt and leather tie mode.

Teardrop Explodes - Reward. They were the first band I saw live too. Also used to like a band called The Monochrome Set but they weren't that well known. I feel so old.
Re: better days.
its not about feeling old! its about remembering feeling young reguardless of when!

Re: better days.
Loads, but here's two that say '15 year old down the local rep' to me
Speaking as a man who now knows Carl Macintosh, Loose Ends stuff is pure genius. This is one of the songs that turned me into a Soul boy for life. And was the first song I played on the cassette deck when I drove away in my newly bought first E21.
And I'm not afraid to admit this one:
Strip away the plastic surgery, the chimps, the kids and all that other b.s. and Quincy Jones produced MJ is still fantastic to the ear.

Re: better days.
Ahhh, the memories. Smoking and drinking underage at Kettlethorpe youthy! We had a room upstairs we used to jam in and tit about. The last vid is when we used to mess around on the pitbikes at the back of Royston coalstacks with a song from Lagwagon called May 16th over the top. That song always reminds me of dossing about at the arcade in Meadowhall.
Used to be well into sports bikes like R1's and GSXR's back then. Proper wanted a Renault 5 GT turbo for my first car! I ended up with a 1.4 clio RT which is the comfiest car ive ever had although not very cool. I ran it to destruction and sold it for 250 quid.

Re: better days.
Dr Feelgood's..."Back in the night".Went to see them in...i think.....The Telegraph,Brixton Hill in 1975.(could be wrong).
I remember my mum's reaction when i got in at midnight! The spanking and grounding was worth it,i LOVED Dr Feelgood! I lived in Peckham at the time. The trip home was one of the scariest bus journeys i've ever had.I was on my own in deepest darkest South East London.
Years later i was at my mate's wedding and Lee Brillaux,Feelgoods lead singer, walked in.I couldn't believe it.For me,at the time,it was like Elvis had turned up.Turns out my mate was from Canvey Island a well as Lee.I kept in touch with him till his premature death a few years ago.

There's one out there with my name on it.
