Re: Seals - leaks - solutions
No point pulling the head lining out unless its gonna have to be welded. My plan now is to use this stuff
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Isopon-Aluminium- ... 483ec1dd1d
Then build it back up with filler. Need to find a small tube to run into the drain pipes first (are these pipes made from rubber?) As long as its functional i dont give a shit how it looks, ill just never open the sunroof again

Plastic tube will be better than rubber and easier to feed thru.

I seem to remember giving you my old welder - have you not played with it yet?
I pulled the screen out of my Baur today, pics in my baur thread. If you are lucky your winscreen surround will look like mine.

Got the welder still but doesnt it need mending first? Cant remember what was up with it.
Have'nt done anything with the windscreen seal just yet, need to focus my attention on the sunroof mess. Got the aluminum mesh through so going to give that a go first. I just need some idea's for how to join the drain channels up

Welder was fine, I have some spare parts here too - swan neck etc. YOu just needed a gas cylinder and some wire.
Might be best to just seal your sunroof up in situ so it doesn't open any more - or leak!

Gonna have to sort it really. Got a plan so fingers crossed it can be sorted soon so i can concentrate on this engine!!

What kind of adhesive would you guys use for the sunroof seal ? Ive got some black tiger seal silicone if it aint gone off already. Would that do the job ? Does'nt seem to be much in the way of weather-strip adhesive ont t'interweb.

Re: Seals - leaks - solutions
Are there any pics diagrams to show where exactly the sunroof drains are run? Has anyone come up with a better design than routing all the water into the sills?

Re: Seals - leaks - solutions
Dr Jim sorted mine. They run from the sunroof down the front pillar and through holes in the front wings. Mine had been melted shut after some welding at some time, so Jim chopped them open. Then extended the tubes and no more problems. Water runs out of them harmlessly out of the car to this day.cdavie2002 wrote:Are there any pics diagrams to show where exactly the sunroof drains are run? Yep, smaller bore pvc tube slid in with a coating of glue that lubed then sealed when it set. I think I pulled the hose right through the hole at the bottom rather than letting it drain into the sills.
