Springs Dislocating

Hello,
I have looked around the forum for an answer but didn't find the one i needed. I have put some lowering springs on the e21 and of course the rear ones fall out of their seat when the car is jacked up or goes over a bump (im assuming). The one answer i did find was to put cable ties there but i need it to pass a roady and im certain it wont with that
Should i get some new shockies or is there an insert that can go in there to sort this problem?
It appears the front ones are fine, so im not worried about them.

How much have you cut off? Rather than use cable ties you could wire them in. I don't know if that might get you through the test? If not, you might need to fit longer ones just to pass with. Maybe some other Oz owners can advise you?

Drill the top cap and the strut spring cup and lock wire.

do you care about the shocks?
when i used to run cut springs on mine.... what i did was to drill out the top washer and spring plate so it passes over the shocker shaft. then put a couple of blobs weld on the shaft in the right place (get the tape measure out and measure how much the spring dislocates... then add half an inch.... this is how much further down the shaft the weld needs to be.) then get a spacer (of about the same length (maybe a few mm less?) you calculated earlier) to fit inbetween the spring plate and the top nut then. when when you fit it all together it effectivly shortens the length of the strut.
the three holes in the back panel you use to get to the three 13mm nuts on the top mount you need to cut this middle bit out (a hole to hole triangle if you will.) as the spacered out shocker shaft will stick up.....

Thanks for the replies guys, i was thinking about the spacers but i have no idea where i would find them..... i rang up pedders today and asked what i could do about them but they never called back to be honest im not intent on modifying the shocks as you said Murran but was thinking it would just be easier to buy new ones.
So it's either leave the stock springs at the back and lowered at the front
find these spacers
or get new shocks.
What sort of prices would i be looking at for the shocks? would i even find any here?
