Clutch problem

Right i had a clutch release bearing noise for a few weeks didnt really think of the worst
Anyway today all of a sudden it wouldnt go into gear? I aint got it checked out yet just thought
il ask the fellow e21'ers for any sugestions? The clutch was not slippin or anything!

Mine was doing this for a while (not going into gear, not the bearing noise). If I left it alone for half an hour the problem would disappear but then come back at a later point. Turned out the seals on my slave cylinder were buggered. IIRC you can get new ones on ebay for about £15, or they sell rebuild kits.

Is there still pressure on the clutch pedal? If not, odds on the slave cylinder has failed. Cheap & easy to fix.

either that or the noisy seizing release bearing has cut thru the pressure plate spring fingers?
