Wheels, what have you got fitted?

Post by Dan320is »

Hi guys,

I've just bought my first E21 after having E30's for the past ten years (still got one) and I'm trying to source another set of wheels for it. I really didn't realise how difficult it is to source low offset wheels these days.

I'm looking for 15's really either 7 or 8 inches wide, any suggestions? I gather I'm going to have to use spacers so the front wheel clears the rod end.

Post a pic of what wheels you have fitted, and if you've had to use spacers.

Here's a couple of pics of my current E30.

Nice E30, are those rims Ronal Turbo's?

I have 15" BBS Mahles 6J / 7J, no spacers (and no center caps...)

And the well known 15" Alpina's, although these are replica's I have for sale.
No spacers either. Bit of a crappy picture:

7" is the biggest! They really are cracking wheels. I believe if you go with 16" wheels you can run higher offsets due to clearing the trailing arms, I think. 17" should clear also...

In most instances I prefer to keep the car looking stock so I roll on 13" steelies and standard ride height (still debating a 40mm drop) - BUT I make an exception for that E30. Those wheels are sick. Remind me of the turbines I used to have on my old clio valver..

As per Text Dan, 13-15" you'll need to be about ET13
Marks BBS RM's are Et12 if the fronts are 8j and ET0 if the rears are 9j.
