Instrument cluster question

Post by Fernando »

Hello again guys,

I'm cleaning the heater panel, instrument cluster and replacing damaged bulbs before install it into my 323i 1978, however i've seen that the fuel gauge has a warning light for low level (in the backside of the gauge don't has electronic system or bulb light for turn on the gas low level warning), and the instrument cluster has another warning light above the warning hand brake.

My question is: both low gas level warnings are original for this year? car produced @ 05.1978
If yes, why the gas gauge don't have electronic system for tur on this warning light?

Sorry for my english

Regards

One pic with both warnings low gas level (only work the big above the hand brake warning)

The units from cars before the facelift (old style dash) have the separate warning light, the later versions have one integrated in the fuel meter. Looks like your fuel meter was replaced at some point.

This means that the later versions did have two warning lights working at the same time?
