I know. If I had to pay todays tax on my alpina I had to pay 70.000 of your british money just in tax. And then I had to pay for the car also.

The new head has been flowed with bigger valves & Cat cam. 6 branch and free flow system is finished. All the parts have been delivered and hopefully we will be on the home straight soon.

I hope.

Great to see a car like this coming together

Didn't see where you are based- but you might want to look at entering it in the Manx Classic 2012 April?

plenty of classes for road cars (with big engines!)

I am sure that we could swing a "pre 81 Classic " entry for you

details are at
http://www.manxmotorracing.com/

Am trying to find a B6 Alpina- to give you some competition!
all the best

A bit of an update. The shell has actually been stripped back way further than I originally anticipated and is currently upside down on a spit. The whole of the underside is being taken back to bare metal before being treated and rust proofed. Once that job is finished a start will be made on the paintwork. There is some micro blistering so that may well get taken back further than was originally planned too. It's going to take a while but at least it's being done properly.

Mark, that's exactly what I have for my M30 too.
There's a guy "Staleyturbo" over on the zone running this set up, but with a turbo too.

I like those adapters, nice bit of CNC, that. Do you mind telling us how much you paid? Is there much of a market for these over here?

They were £96'ish dependent on exchange rate. I doubt there's much demand as not many people use M30's any more.

Dear Mark
Looking forward to an update here!

We should compare notes? About restoration etc and progress:
- for eg 1/4 mile time for your TWR etc?
