I may be in the market for an e30 325i cabriolet (my wife wants one ) It's gonna be a full cabrio, not a Baur. Needs to be build in '85, '86 because of the taxrules in the Netherlands.
What are the specific problems with this type of car? Any body problems? technical problems? Do's and don'ts?

The E30 has most of the same rust issues then the E21 so that you know exactly.
The engine is an M20B25 so that is almost the same as the good old M20B23.
What i discovered at the E30 cabrio of my cousin is that the closure of the side windows towards the roof is not always at the best.
Because of the selling of my E21 Baur it is already dailly talk in the house to buy a BMW E30 cabrio for that money so i am searching a little bit also. For me it is no problem if it is an E30 Baur.

Finding a decent example, especially a 325i, might take a lot of time and patience. With the early ones, rust and a hard life are the real issues as well as bad roofs/leaks, and the usual 325i stuff like timing belt change. I know a decent example but it is a 87. I've been looking for a decent pre-87 daily but you either find rubbish or very expensive cars that's why I've decided to put up with abt 600 euros road tax a year.
Looks ok enough to investigate, just strange there's not a decent shot of the front seats. Pls don't stare yourself blind on road tax, if you're using the car only in the good weather months you're only looking at less than 300 Euros a year. Not exactly a reason to give a real good 87 or 88 example a pass. But I might have an 86 or 87 in a couple of days as well, if so I'll keep u posted.
Nov '86 tralalalala which is awfully important to some people, enough to pay 4 times the price in some cases. Think I'll hang on to her myself for a while first....
