Looking to buy this E21.

Post by nomis »

Hi guys.
I have just read the main site and it is quite amazing. So much information.
I have been looking for an E21 for quite a while now but they do not come up for sale very often! This one has been for sale for a while now and I am just wanting to get some opinions on it from knowledgeable people.
The car can be found here.
I believe some features of this car are not standard, for example the clear side lights and the wheels.

I hope to get an E21 soon and become a regular members of these forums.

Thanks all.

Hi Nomis, are you based in America? If so this 323i is more desireable than the U.S spec 320i. Price seems very reasonable, however ask for some photos, ideally under the car, ask if any weldings been done etc. Keep us posted!

think he is in ozzzzzzzz.........yes the front turn indicators are not standard nor the rims. It is getting very difficul to get tyres for the original 13" rims.

Ah cool, pics weren't up when I first saw it - looks nice, but cars in rain water can fool the eye. I'd get some more pics, but looks good on first glance

Thanks for the replies guys.
I plan on going to have a look at it(when it is fine weather). Is anyone able to tell me where the engine number is located on these engines?
I will take plenty of photos and post them up here.

P.S-To the member who emailed me about selling an e21 in St Albans, I tried to reply but it rejected my email as it said the address was rejected. Maybe try PM me or something.

Good luck getting a day of good weather in Melbourne! :D

I've heard the engine number is stamped below the distributor, although I've never looked.

Cheers

An update for you guys if you are interested.

I have been trying but cannot get in contact with the seller! All I have from the advertisement is a phone number and it will not ring and he is not replying to text messages. :(
Nothing I can do apart from keep trying.

Althought another E21 has popped up for sale aswell - http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/pri ... e&__Nne=15
The amount of modifications puts me off it though, I prefer the previous one.

Will keep trying :)

Welcome here matey! I'd say try to see and drive a couple of E21's before deciding, both look ok to me, first one is more original but it looks to me the 2nd one has seen more TLC. Keep us posted!

The 2nd one looks better taken care of, but personally I don't really care much for mods, which he seems to have done but not listed. He seems to have spent a lot on he ICE..........also not my cuppa tea. He lists it as a Motorsport.....not sure what that means......was it a motorsport edition, then sadly it all be erased............sigh....

Angree

And I forgot, 1st has these chrome wheel arches which I hate personally, usually there's rust behind them and if you remove them after some years the damage might call for a respray.
