1/4 bumpers

Post by e21-Mark »

I was just wondering if anyone has fitted front quarter bumpers to their e21? If so, do you have any photos? I was just looking around for alternatives to either the OE or bumperless look.

I'm thinking along the lines of flat front MK2 Escorts.

I've been looking at the chrome ones from a MK1 Escort too. What I really need is someone who's got some photoshop skills to mock it up for us.

I might just chop up an old bumper and see that way.

Erm......

I'm going back to the workshop shortly so will have a look and see what's laying about.

Really the corner section and the joiner would probably be enough to give the right effect. Mind you, I'm thinking of going with the Ronal spoiler and no bumper at all anyway. I just need it painted along with the 3.0 CSL rear wing uprights. It should look the nuts when finished.

Hopefully by the weekend I'll have the spoilers on and then painted in time for Crystal Palace sprint on the 29th. I've got a few other little jobs like pedal extensions, leccy cut-out and extinguisher but should still get it done in a day. Final job will be the livery but that's being done by someone else. Just had a touch on ebay and got a new race seat in ''wide load'' size for just £45!

Anyway if your running no bumper up front what are you having on the rear?

Or is that why you wanted something on the front so you can still run a rear bumper?

Exactly. I guess I could run with no rear but it always looks like there's something missing to me. The number plate light always looks like an after thought too.
