First thing I saw this Morning

Post by creedon »

I went outside this morning and saw the left-hand wing mirror lying on the footpath next to the car. Someone had snapped it off (must have given it a fair whack, too) and just jeft it. :(
Really frustrating and annoying and none of the neighbours saw anything.
Gutted and I imagine these brackets aren't too easy to come by. Fortunately the main part of the mirror is intact so all I need is the bracket.

If anyone has one lying around (!) then give us a shout

:(

Sorry hear about your car being damaged that blows. I don't suppose you drive up the M66 from time to time do you? Few weeks back i spotted one heading north, just past the Bury turn-off with the RAC (or AA) in hot pursuit.

Anyway, hope you get a replacement without much issue. You could try BMW as they may still sell them; failing that i'm sure someone on here can help - failing that ebay i suppose.

All I can say is what a bunch of swines. Can't bare to see someone taking good care of an old car. I got all happy at first because I have a couple of spares, except they're the newer plastic ones. I can see the attraction of chromies don't get me wrong, but would you think of upgrading to these anyway?

That was us, Jacko, on the M66 and just a bit further behind was my chiller van on the back of an Egerton's rescue truck! Had some major chiller probs and was on way to the repair place near Burnley and need a lift back!

Will keep an eye on ebay, defo.

Cheers

yeah fair enough, well good luck with finding a replacement. If it makes you feel any better, when I had my Audi A6 some little scrote/s kicked off both my RS6 mirrors at the time - cost me a £1200 insurance clai, to replace.
I did think about going back to standard, but I thought sod it, I'll take my chances and it neve happened again during my 3 years of ownership :)

Ha ha yeah. Well the actual mirror caps, which I suspect is what made the little magpies nick them to sell them down the pub cost around £400. Two whole mirror units and the labour to fit them is what made a make a nice bill for £1,200. I don't miss having a prestige new car most of the time.
