Help on specs of a 323i

Post by sinenarockandroll »

I have the chance to buy a 323i e21 but for several reasons I will have to make the decision without seeing the car (not even pics).
Just managed to get the Vin number. Is there a way to know the specs and extras the car has with this number?
Found some webs that told me year model, M20 and manual transmition. But woul like to know things such as: Nº of speeds, a/c, power steering...?

Thanks!

Is it a UK car?

Most UK cars had similar spec. Rare goodies like Recaros & LSD's were exceptions rather than common. Manual 5 speed or 3 speed auto although early manuals were 4 speed. Manual windows and sunroof. Spoked alloys or steels.

I wouldn't worry too much about options lists as you can always retro fit stuff. Condition of car is way more important tbh.

No, the car is Spanish.
Talked to the son of the owner, only one owner since the car was bought!
Price is good and has told me the car runs well; no rust but paint needed. I've decided to go for it.
Has also told me that years ago he broke the timing belt and directly puted a e30 325 engine instead.

From Internet I found the car is a Manual M20 (sept.1980) but nothing else.
