Coilovers - Is something missing...

Post by olivewoo »

Well after quite a wait the Coilovers turned up from RPM, i can't wait to get them all fitted up, but is there something mossing from the rear coilover?? should i have a spring cap or something?

Fronts are on..

Rears are on too but i think they'll have to come off again, i used the standard rear mounts and no spring cap, it squeaks a lot... so something isn't right...

It does drive a lot better with the coilovers on, and it looks really nice, maybe a little too low on the back, but it has got some settling in to do yet, and i'll have to do something about the squeaks.....

i have a few pictures from Brands Hatch this weekend so i'll post them up later.

Just one for now..

Your car looked lovely as you drove off yesterday. Only thing I would change is the rear spoiler but that's just personal tastes. Glad you kept it anyway.

HI Mark, Thanks, it does look good i think (if i do say so myself..) i'm glad i kept it too.

Sorry i didn't get a chance to speak to you, it was a good day at Brands.

Don't worry the spoiler's on borrowed time... just think it would be better to leave it alone while i either find another green bootlid (and wings) or get the holes welded and have it painted..

Like the track car btw, and i see where you got the idea for the dash layout in your other post..

Having spoke to RPM it looks like i should have got some top caps for the rear coilovers, got to take it all apart again now.. should have realised.

that rubber thing wont fit = cos the coils are much thinner. and the top cap is a less diameter.

i fitted mine on with the orginal top mounts my rears came with a top cap on them - I have checked the pics i took when i unwrapped them after they got delivered.

i still get a rattle at low speeds no squeaks though - you cant hear it rattle over 30mph -

early every coilover set i have ever fitted to a car has done this.
