E12 Diff in E21 subframe Picture

Post by Eecen »

I scored an S3.xx side loader from a pull it yard, and am planning on getting another rear subframe to do this conversion on at some point in the future. I've seen detailed photos of an E30 diff being put into an E21 subframe, but I can't find any with an E12 diff.

I wouldn't be doing the welding/fabrication myself...I just think it would be nice if I could get photos of whats been changed etc for whomever ends up doing the work.

I live a few hundred kms from the UK so I can't just take my stuff in to Fritzsbits... :(

Maybe I'll email them for some help.

Cheers,

Hi, the plan sounds nice!, but a lot of work.

Im building an m50b25 into my e21 315, but im gonna buy a rear subframe from an e24/e28 with a 25% sperrdiff. I've measured the space between both nuts on the left and the right, its like 15mm, so that wouldnt be the problem.

Maybe this will save you some work ;) good luck with the build :)

Shouldn't be too bad but the pic below is all I have, poor quality scan from a Hartge 335i brochure. Heard about people modifying an E24 rear subframe before indeed, believe Jeremy from www.superbmw.com did that as well, see his 323i M3 build pages.
