Another day, another dead fuel pump... Going to look at external pumps now.

Last night. After midnight, however, so it was today indeed...
Drove it...drove it and drove it!!!! Almost like I stole it!! (Just a bit less than that!)
In empty B-roads of eastern part of Attika, and then in Attiki odos motorway...No traffic, no blue-uniform guys...Athens in August is just as Paradise should be...
And it is really quick...e21-Mark once told me that I am going to drive wearing a smile...well I am indeed!!!
It's a real pleasure to drive!!!

Ok, I know I should catch up with taking pictures...Next time for sure!!!

As my stereo kept going off each time I touched the brakes, I figured the switch must be failing. I swapped the one out of the track car and Roberts your mums brother, it worked! It's day 2 and 50 miles later and all the fuses remain in one piece and the indicators & wipers are all fine. Fingers crossed it stays this way?! All I can think of is that the switch was shorting out somewhere inside?

Anyway, today I get to throw away the Fritz Bits ECU chip in the track car. It's rubbish and causes massive over-fueling and bore wash. I t has a date with a 4lb club hammer. I've got a replacement chip from Speedtouch on the Zone. I used one of his chips before and it seemed to work OK. I've opted for the hi-torque mid range option as opposed to the balls out version. :thumbsup

Not in my experience, no. The one they fitted to the 635 that was in Practical Classics magazine proved to be useless too.

If it's mainly a lot of over-fueling, sometimes that might help midrange torque a bit but on a M20 or M30 you're likely to lose horses instead of gaining them. On the 4V engines like S14 and M88, these just love some extra juice.

Just found my driver's side scratched !!! thank god it's just the colour and a minor scratch, at least 1 metre long, though!!!
It's probably done by a car that passed by...No note left, nothing!!! @ssholes!!! August, Athens almost empty, traffic reduced by 75%, my car was parked at a rather quite road....

PISSED OFF !!!!! :wtf

Mark, I may have the same or a similar problem...
Not EACH time, but some times, when I touch the brake pedal, stereo stops and restarts again!!!
Which switch did you replace? Did you have to clean or replace any fuse?
The most complicated part is that it DOES NOT happen every time... :?:

Sorry about your damage!

It sounded to me like the brake light switch shorting against the chassis. Perhaps others have experienced that as well? Could be a good reason to keep a spare in the glovebox...

I think you're right. It would explain why the fault was intermittent too.

Day 3 and it's all still working! :thumbsup

Ok, then, I have another problem for you guys : I have also noticed, that the fault happens only when the car is moving in the garage !! It does not happen (I haven't noticed it so far) during driving at normal speeds, or in the city traffic etc.
Only when I am trying to park or de-park the car !! (sorry about the wrong term "de-park", I think you understand the meaning though!!). Before or after, it won't do it again!!!!

Not suffering from that other short circuit issue that's caused by the reverse light wires at the place they're entering the passengers compartment next to the gearstick?

Well, when that started, about 2 months ago, and I was doing 1st efforts to identify it, at some point I thought that it was happening when I would try to select reverse gear. But, this morning I saw for sure (as I repeated it on purpose and it did happen) that it happens when I press the brake pedal, at parking speeds, or even when stopped!!
Probably I was thinking about the reverse, because sometimes, when parking the car, I press the brakes lightly at the same time when selcting reverse...
So I really believe it's the brakes...
I will have to continue making my remarks, however...
