It's a difficult one. The Adrian Flux valuation is about the only one I have been able to get so far. I have had to submit evidence of the cars provenance etc and once it's finished I'm going to have professional photos from the magazine feature that's planned. I have absolutely no intention of selling anyway and obviously insurance values bear little relation to real world market values either. It's not the monetary value that's important to me anyway. After spending the amount of time & effort I have, in researching the cars history, I could never replace it anyway. The only other one, with the added bonus of having Tom Walkinshaw himself on the log book, is likely to be big money were it ever offered for sale. Frankly I can't see that ever happening either.

As the finish gets closer (it's supposed to be ready this month!! :thumbsup ) I cannot wait to be able to drive it! I've even started cleaning up all the period ICE although I'm going to be listening to these most of the time I reckon!

Back in the day BMW and TWR made a promotional film about the County Race Championship and it's drivers. I'm told there is some really good footage included although, being the late 70's & early 80's, it's a bit on the kitsch and corny side! Anyway, I have finally managed to track down a copy and it's going to be swapped from VHS to a DVD. As soon as it comes I'll upload it to YouTube. :thumbsup

Part of my reasoning behind showing the research into the prices being asked for genuine(?) early Alpinas was to sound out the market- if Mark needed more evidence of at least the asking price of some of these B6s - being the nearest thing to the TWR- then he will have had it here!

Hope it was helpful?

TWR fired on dyno this weekend for the first time in 20 years! :shake

We are still a few weeks away from completion but a step closer all the same.

I am chuffed but there's an engine problem which means it's going to need stripping again and putting right. It's hard to keep motivated sometimes, especially when things can be so expensive, but I know it'll be worth it in the end. There's a lot still to do but hopefully we are only a few weeks away from completion.

Yeah it is expensive and disheartening sometimes feels like a never ending uphill struggle ! But with such a rare car and the feeling you will have once completed i can only say plenty of fun to come

please Danny Boy get it out of the garage and have some fun...................

now Mark
I am back after various adventures- prescott etc

Because my B6 now has a B9 3.5 big block and was built in Germany/Switzerland I have a whole lot of of TUV info on wiring under the heading "Motorumbau BMW Alpina B6 E21 2.8- 3.5
Annschlussplan Motorkabelbaum"
It seems to show which wire does what between each engine, presumably this is useful to you?

If this is useful to you (and your German is up to speed) I shall happily send to you, do please let me know?
regards etc
