Cheers matey, I'm a bit short of pennies atm to buy a new one so I'll take that in the meantime and replace at a later date if/when it fails. I'll owe you some dosh and/or beers, your call.drjim wrote:I bought a brand new pump off ebay last night as it occured to me that mine was a bit noisy, the one I had in the slug was noisy and then failed so I decided to get a new one to fit into the baur. I thus have the bracket/level sender etc plus a used slightly noisy pump. Your best bet is e30zone to get one with the wiring bits attached, but if you can't get one you can have my old one and spare bits. No warranty at all though.

Re: Engine Swap Pt2
I'll probably be there - with Jim's permission of course. I reckon I can handle moving the forks up and down. Lets face it - I can't be any worse than Nas.murran wrote: if reck does buy that engine then i'll bring that too and try to get it chucked in if possible..... will there be anyone around to drive the forklift?
Re: Engine Swap Pt2
Now then
I have ordered new circlips and spacers for the linkage, replace the lot. Fuel pump on way, springs and M/C in the boot ready to go on.
Reck you are welcome, I will be going to work in the morning and coming home at some stage but not useful for you to get a lift. As to the pump the tricky bit will be connecting the wires up without the right connectors, however I would wager that PEte who has the engine would have some bits of loom somewhere.
I normally head in to work around 9AM, so early doors I am afraid.
There's usually a whole gang of people down there working on a Sunday who can drive the stacker, I'll clear it all with Jason (unit Jason not Reck or 323i Jason!).
I'll expect a 9-930 AM kick off. See you then.

That's fine, Navigation Rd metrolink is only about 20 minutes walk from the shop according to google. Will make further enquiries with Pete.drjim wrote:Reck you are welcome, I will be going to work in the morning and coming home at some stage but not useful for you to get a lift. Off tram, walk to road, turn right, walk to end of road, cross manchester road at lights, turn right over bridge, next left down Atlantic street past B&Q and you're there. 15-20 minutes indeed.

OK Murran we'll rendevous at the unit as near to 9 as poss. I may need to sort someone else letting you in if I am in work for a trauma case in the early morning, but normally OK Sunday morning. I will be needing your mobile number so I can txt you in case that happens.
My car needs springs swapping, brake M/C swapping and bleeding etc, fuel pump swapping for the new one I have ordered and refitting, gear linkage fixing with the nice new circlips etc from BMW, and that should be it. I have spring compressors etc, so no need to bring extra tools. If the world becomes a better place in the next few days, Shaun will be down there on Sunday and he'll buff/touch up the paint as well (not hopeful on this!).
I may make it back to do a bit of pottering, we shall see.
Full workshop facilities available for whatever happens with Recks car of course. Fingers crossed it gets back OTR pronto.

07949648886 - bear in mind I'm really shit at answering/calling/texting/switching on/topping up etc so basically, it's like having a lamp with no genie in... only ring if u want to get seriously annoyed and ask yourself repeatedly "WHY BOTHER GETTING A PHONE IF U DON'T ANSWER IT?!?!?"
At least that's what my missus says anyway. But at least I can use the camera on it and have a sweet picture of her boobs as my screen background ; D

Pics of head, cam and plugs. Definitely looks like an improvement! Any opinions? Can't tell if those spark plugs have bridged or it's the camera!
