Sold it. Bit sorry to see it go but was about time. Only thing I didn't tell him was about the fuel breather pipe.... So you can't brimming the tank without it leaking. Never caused me any issues as you can still have about 55 litres in the tank.
Can't say enough thanks to all of you guys for the help over the years, you've all been nothing short of fantastic.
Special thanks goes to rob who fitted suspension and seats to my car and has been so helpful.
I suspect my time on this forum will be rather limited in the future for obvious reasons so this is basically a fairwell.
Thanks guys.

Hey sorry to hear that PH, . I went to buy the 740il, but good job I took my more knowledgable friend with me. Had only 61K on the clock, but head gasket was on the way out. Kinda appreciate the simplicity of my E21. thanks for the tip on the Bilt Hamber and good luck with the 540i

MIB goes in for MOT tomorrow (I can't believe how quickly the past year has gone!) and I know I need new track rod ends. Also got a bit more power thanks to 2.5 inlet and new speed sensor for ECU means I can finally get full RPM.

Well it was Saturday night...
The old lady managed to show teeth to a brand new E92 M3 !!!!
(ok, I have to admit it was a matter of driver, but still the difference is huge isn't it?)

Re: What did you do to your E21 today?
Yesterday me and Murran dropped in the replacement engine at Jim's workshop. Murran got his wiring head on and made a start on that while I pottered about scratching my arse and making blustering noises.

And I haven't been to pick it up yet as I moved my E21 from outside the house this morning and then set about stripping the rest of the wallpaper, which became removing a whole wall of plaster and knocking a wall down!

Any time, sad to see you go!pistonheader wrote:Special thanks goes to rob who fitted suspension and seats to my car and has been so helpful.
Nas, how are finding the top mounts? I have a set of these to go on, though in all likely hood they'll go on an E30 than E21.
Wow Mark, MIB seems to be a bit of a shed
I've sorted the inlet leak problem and I'm currently driving the 323i M50

Pistonheader: overlooked your farewell, thanks for cheering the place up and please check out the developments here every now and then!
Mark: looks to me like you didn't take a single look at the car before the MOT, did you drop her off in a container or?

I definately looked at it before the MOT. Mind you, that's all I did.

These top mounts are awesome.
My car now rips around bends like never before. Now I have to relearn its limits but the factory understeer is dialed its a bit more tail happier. You would like it!
My front arms are dying though
now on the hunt for new ones.

Re: What did you do to your E21 today?
I ordered some new rear subframe bushes to correct my strange rear wheel steer problem. Also pondered what to do to improve the fuel pump connections - the third hand plugs off the e30 loom are a loose fit and the car conks out unexpectedly!

Hey Mark
Sounds like you guys need to move out here to IOM
We don't have that annual MOT business - just a really tricky first inspection ! Which Herman is about to experinece. Oh and pre 1986 cars qualify for £10 road tax
look forwrad to seeing you here in April 2012?

Tyres arrived today. The last Yokohamas I tried weren't all that. These certainly look good but don't know anyone who's run them yet.
