BEWARE !!! Dodgy seller
Once again our friend Boyd has taken some money from someone and not delivered what he said he would leaving the customer out of pocket for hundreds of £££££. This time Boyd has really stepped up his game. This time a customer has paid him to collect a car from Scotland as well sending him the money for the car itself. Boyd has taken £610 off a fellow BMW owner and once again vanished, leaving the guy out of pocket and having to find more money to pay for the car.
The chap he has done it to this time is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and if any of you are familiar with an e12 M535i that Tony rebuilt, then this is the owner of that lengendary car.
I never like posting this on an open forum buy the chap has seriously exhausted all efforts (apart from the old way) to get his money back and the sooner the BMW community get to know about this clown the better. I for one know someone who mistakenly took Jason as Boyd until i put them right.
He goes by the name Cecotto479 on forums, although i could have got the numbers wrong

Re: BEWARE !!! Dodgy seller
Yea I'm sure that's him. He sold a 318i engine to reck . When we inspected it. It was rooted basically. It was supposedly rebuilt but it was so full of carbon it looked like it had been used as a bbq.
I'm very sure reck said his name was boyd and he sells bmw parts and is from Scotland.

I wouldnt be surprised. The problem with him is that he takes peoples money and doesnt deliver and then stops replying to messages, PM....etc etc for months....I know what we would do if he ever did it for us.
Re: BEWARE !!! Dodgy seller
I am the guy Boyd owes the £610.00 to.
It's a long story that's been gone over on the E30Zone, (you need to register/log-on to see it).
The thread on the 'zone has been locked for now & Boyd Beattie (Cecotto479) of Bavarian Retro has promised, on a public forum, that I will get my money back within (quote) 'a few days'.
It's kinda a shame the thread was locked, as there are other folk with 'issues' who wanted to post.
However, Boyd again promised to resolve matters so for now I will wait a few more days.
After all, it's been over four months, so a few more day won't hurt & it saves getting all legal & heavy...!
Anyway, as was pointed out on the 'zone, some felt that it wasn't a matter to raise there, as it all started on uShip.
The same could be argued for here, (it's years since I've had an E21 & this is my first post. Got an E12 though... Same digits
).
My E21 was a light-Blue 'P' plate 320 Auto...!
Anyway....
Others pointed out that someone who enjoys trader status on any particular forum, by implication, gets that forum's recommendation.
If the trader concerned has a well established track record of 'difficulties' elsewhere, is it not right to warn people of other forums, as Mobster has done?
Once Boyd has refunded my money, I will post to confirm the fact.

Re: BEWARE !!! Dodgy seller
Thanks for your contribution, and yes please keep us posted. I have no problem with these warnings as there are some guys around that travel from forum to forum ripping off people, better be warned!
And an E12 is nothing more than a 4 door E21 so ur most welcome here

Thank you!
I'll post some pics of the E12 later. I'm on the wrong computer at the mo..!
Should have some pics of the E21 somewhere, though she's long-gone to a car-park in the sky by now...

Re: BEWARE !!! Dodgy seller
I can confirm what Nas has said. I've been waiting about a month for a refund - but to be fair to Boyd he has kept in contact, he's never ignored a text/phonecall/PM. I'm expecting a refund any day now so we'll see what happens.

Re: BEWARE !!! Dodgy seller
Well, I'm trying to stay positive. £350 is a fair wad for me as I'm certainly not rolling in it. I also like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Stay on top of him. Keep this thread updated guys and if you are not getting anywhere with him, maybe Jason could have a word with him for you.
