hmmmm, i had a pair of these on the front of my old golf. wer'nt a patch on the old a539's these replaced. used to have a539's all round on it, but when the front ones wore out i couldnt get any more in 205 50 15, so had to have these.
seemed alot more understeery to me. ended up swapping the tyres front to rear.

Went for a blast down the A3 via the new mile long tunnel. Very childish but great fun all the same. Glad to be back behind the wheel of MIB again after so long. ;)

Well, I started prepping mine ready to sell it over the forthcoming weeks... will be sad to see it go as I had plans to take it to Canada when we move.

It's not all bad though as I've bought a sweet Triumph Stag in black (none of those dodgy 70s yellows and purples for me!) which will be ready in a couple of weeks.

I can't really afford to keep both, and also figure the BMW will get little use when the temptation of a spin in a V8 with the top down is beckoning from the driveway!

I'll post the ad up here for the 323i soon, probably in next two weeks.

ive ordered a pair of handbrake cables from the dealer today. one's coming tomorrow, the other, a few days later.
also got a s/h o/s/f suspension arm off drjim (cheers jim!) but with a ripped rubber boot on the ball joint. ive borrowed a boot off a landrover track rod end ive got in the shed and fitted it on the arm. brill!

still need to sort out fitting my new rear wishbones. if i take the sizes of the bearing listed on realoem down to the bearing shop do you think they would be correct? id feel much more comfortable doing this if i had the bearings in my hand for them to measure...... dunno what to do with this!
i really want some flanges for a 320/6 so i can build the new wishbones up with bearings then simply swap wishbones without the risk of my car being off the road for any length of time!

Went to court as I'm on trial for my German style number plates.

Yes, really.

Bit of a mistake there mate, wasting hours of your time plus public money on the army of CPS parasites, Police paperwork, Police turning up to court to give statements, all because you think you are above the law of the land. I thought you were in the legal profession yourself - you should know better.

Get proper plates and live with them, put stylish ones on for shows.

Next it'll be why do I need insurance, I prefer a car without.

Before you say it I know I'm being grumpy.

Adjourned till 8/12 because they couldn't find the file.

You're right Jim, it is a waste of money but it all started because the officer accused me of fraud. Had he been reasonable I would have paid the £40, changed the plates and forgotten about it. Instead, he was intent on being a dick and blowing the whole thing up into something it isn't. Today, the magistrate was going to just throw the whole thing out but the prosecution pleaded with them not too. The whole thing is a farce and confirms that some of these people just make stuff up as it suits them. They even tried to say metal number plates were no longer legal and play no part in the MOT test! If I'm honest, I just want to see how ridiculous it can get!

I'd love to know how metal plates are illegal, mine fly through an MOT each time! TBH my favourite plates are UK standard for the year with no flags or clutter on them, in pressed metal. I get them off ebay for something like £20 the pair and it saves me going down to Halfords with my V5, it still has the plate maker's details for legallity. I don't mind german plates so much but I'd never run them as I try and limit the reasons why the po-po would need to pull me over. What does grind my gears is black/silver plates on cars that aren't from that period.

Have a lovely picture of my car

Well, it might have been yesterday but I started cleaning up the engine bay - have removed and treated and sprayed / painted the surface rust that seems to be common along the front edge of the engine bay - looks a lot better now - although I forgot to take any bleedin before pictures!

Will be doing one last decent journey in the car this weekend when I head to Cornwall - after that it's full speed ahead with getting it ready to advertise.... unless I can justify keeping 2 classic cars as well as my daily driver!
