Alternator

Post by Tariq e21 »

Iv been advised to change my alternator by my mechanic..
Will an alternator off an e34/2002 fit an e21?? Someone has suggested it does fit... if that is the case my mate is breaking an e34 so i can take that one off..

And also if anyone needs any bits of an e34 let me know...

I think so, but you'll just need to see how it lines up with the pulleys. I think I know someone who used an e28 item on their 2002 and being higher output, it improved their electrics.

I doubt it as it would have to be an m30 or m20 e34 and I think they stopped making them before 2002

Hi Tariq - I have an E30 alternator from a 325i. Mechanic needed to mod a bracket, but couldn't have been too difficult as he didn't charge me much.
