The new front panel was mocked up so that we could take all the measurements needed to order a new alloy rad from AH Fabrications. I do have an old rad, that came with the car, but I know that heat was a problem when the car was new so the benefit of an alloy rad is well worth the effort. I have an alloy header tank too, so it should look nice under the bonnet with the carbs.

The Gaz coilovers are finished in black so are a little more discrete.

I'm going over on Friday with the carpets & inner trim so will take more photos then.

I'm also going to lay the speaker wiring before the carpets so that it all remains hidden.

hi mark.., why do people fit the alpina front spoiler but fail to cut the front valence behind for the brake cooling ducts? at speed that must cause sum type of turbulance up front? ive started to notice this on a few cars now..
looking good by the way..

I guess it's so they're not left with 2 gaping great holes if ever they decide to remove the spoiler?

Thanks. I does seem never ending though. I understand why it's been off the road for 20 plus years too! The sad thing is that I had a dream about the bloody thing the other night. :screwy

dear mark
Keep the faith!
it will come right eventually
when I was given grief by the Licencing authorities here - who wouldn't accept the Swiss title paperwork since is was over 6 months old for Herman- it is dispiriting when a plan gets delayed yet again.

why don't you aim for the Manx Classic entry in April as end game deadline for the TWR?

You wouldn't believe the recent trials we have had with one of the Jeeps (Daisy) found to have split bores on engine rebuild, and now 5 speed T5 gearbox needs a different spigot- it just goes on etc.

When i had the alpina spoiler fitted I cut the whole bottom section of a spare valance below the join line and used that, it tends to rot any way behind the spoiler

I'm aiming to enter either way.

I'm considering selling my current track car and building up the 76' shell that I have.

It's the pre 76' identity that is the main motive though to be honest. The other alternative is that I just drop an s14 in to replace the m42? I've got a set of 40's sat doing nothing too.

Just traced another incredibly rare UK e21!

It's an M30 2.8 powered car that Tom Walkinshaw reputedly built for Frank Sytner. I am hoping to have some photos and more detail soon.

Spoke to the owner of the TWR/Alpina 2.8 today. It's been in his garage for the past 8 years but would only need a fresh battery to be up and running again. It's blue/grey metallic with Recaro interior, close ratio gearbox, Alpina diff cover and wheels etc etc. Only 57k miles or thereabouts and still looks as good as ever. The owner has asked me not to say too much on its whereabouts as it was stolen once before. The thieves tried selling it to Moseley Motorsport who told them they knew the car and the best thing they could do would be to return it. It was nice to hear that the car survives and the owner has made it quite clear that it is not for sale! He is going to mail me some more detail and a photo or two which I will post here. :thumbsup

Nice! Both the rad and the TWR 2.8, looking forward to seeing a few pics of that car, sounds like it's in great condition.
