I live in Toronto and have an 83 316 Baur.
I am having my M10 engine rebuilt and need a variety of parts. The 316 engine was a Europe-only so am a little worried about making sure that I get the right parts.
Can anyone suggest where I might source the parts listed below.
And how I can identify the parts numbers.
Main Bearings - (.25mm) or (.10 inches)
Rod Bearings - (.25mm) or (.10 inches)
Pistons (Oversize by 0.50mm or 0.2 in)
Rings (Oversize by 0.50mm or 0.2 in)
Complete Gasket set
Oil Pump
Timing Kit (2 chains, tensioners, guides)
many thanks,
PeterCS

Lots of people in the US and Canada have M10's in their 2002's. You can buy kits to rebuild from places like topend performance, Ireland engineering, Metric mechanic, VAC motorsport etc, or order via your BMW dealer. If you want oversize pistons Ireland were doing cast ones, or you can get forged ones for more money. Check the dealer though - sometimes surprisingly cheap.
