I've decided I'm hanging onto it I'm afraid.

Mick @ Pristine fitted the diff so I couldn't tell you exactly what's needed. Am sure Jason or someone can though.

I fitted the harnesses and the cage is due to arrive sometime between Christmas & New Year.

When the cage goes in I am going to look at mounting the seats closer to the floor. I know this means chopping out the metal that supports the OE runners but I want more headroom.

The 3.07 diff ratio is actually pretty much ideal for me. There's still plenty of acceleration and cruising on the motorway is really relaxed. Another bonus is the taller 1st gear is ideal for antisocial powerslides. :)

Booked in at Surrey Rolling Road tomorrow to see just what sort of power my M52 is making now compared to the 193bhp it had 16 years ago when it left the factory. I know engines with similar mods usually make around 220bhp but I also know some estimates can be a little optimistic. A genuine 210 plus and I'll be happy enough and I'm certainly pleased with the way it drives.

I do still need to sort the underbonnet wiring out though. It's always been a shambles since the day I got the car 3 years ago. Ideally I'd like to rip the whole lot out and start again. In fact, I may well do exactly that.

I need to get some paint done too. The area at the bottom of the front wings, where it meets the sill, and the lower section of the rear quarter, behind the back wheels, has started to lift at the edges. I know these areas are usually protected with anti stone chip but where mine were painted body colour, the stones and stuff have chipped at the paint. I could have it all prepped and painted again but I might just go for a rubberised protection? I just don't want to let rust get a grip anywhere.

Considering the 2.8's all had more than 193 HP from the factory, I'd say after this intake conversion 220HP should be easy, if the engine is still quite fresh I wouldn't be surprised if you even got more. My guesstimate: 233HP. Keep us posted!

Seeing as you have a mandrel bent exhaust and only two silencers with no cats. id say 230hp as its had a remap too you may even get more?

Don't forget the torque figure is equally important.

See if you can get them to give a figure at the wheels as well mate wouldn't mind seeing how much transmission loss you get.

If you pass a weigh bridge lol see what it weighs?!

If I'm not mistaken the only 'true' figure you get is the HP at the wheels as that's what they measure with the engine in the car. Engine/crank horses are always a guess based on an assumed driveline loss.

219.4 BHP.

There's another 10 or 15 bhp to come as it's running pretty rish higher in the rev band but generally I'm very happy.
