Well I've posted all updates here... uhm nothing really! Both haven't been touched for a looooong time. Things are now slowing down a bit here. I hope to have the 320 MOT'd within a few weeks so at least I can drive an E21 again. I'm thinking of giving the yellow car a respray after that so I'm able to drive an E21 323i say spring next year. And then it's time to do a serious restore on the green one.. that might take some more time.
Will it all go as I plan now... I dunno... depends... if the other cars are not taking up loads more time than I expect (maintenance, crash the track car -knocking on wood- or anything), if no other special cars cross my path... hmmm well...

No way: you prefer a Mercedes W123 above a BMW e30 Alpina....Ruud wrote:Last time I talked to you I promised that after the Alpina there would be just a 911......but things can change in life: on my wishlist there also is the Mercedes W123 280TE. I've ran into one I really like. But 1 car really has to leave then.
But back to what the topic is about: E21'sss!
Oh, well: everybody has his own taste......

Same here!Ruud wrote:@Nils: It's impossible to compare these cars. The TE is also an icon from my youth. Possibly just like the 320/6 is for you. In my case I just do have more than one icon.....The e30 just is not my kind of cookie.
I know, the same here for me and the E21
Also for me the E30 isn't really my thing... I can really get passionate about the e21 and E12. One other make I would like to own is for instance an Opel (Manta B)
Mercs are not my thing, really... but.... If tastes were equal, it would be so dull on the roads....

Hell of a nice collection you've got Jeroen!! Wouldn't mind having a few of those in my garage.
Now you just need to get some of those E21's on the road again...

I want to go through the cars' history to see when it was fitted. Further, I do not know if it's glued or bolted on and since I expect this one to be on the car for nearly 30 years, the trunklid may require a respray if I take it off anyway. So that's why I won't remove it right away.
But I agree, it doesn't look good on the car and it doesn't combine very well with the rest of the car. BTW just found the original Hella covers for the front foglight and put em on right away... looks nice as well.
I hope to do some cleaning and polishing this week and take some new photos!

Just checked... these chrome rings are EUR 50 each!Nils wrote:It's easy to fit 5.5J 13" with 185/70-13 tires and chrome rings in the wheels. It would look cool and original
No way! You can buy NEW OEM steel wheels for that money!
Maybe a new set of 13" multispokes then as they are EUR 116 new. For now I won't do anything and see what the MOT comes up with first!

I have one complete set of those rings. Very good condition and 50euros all four, if anyone is interested.Jeroen wrote: Just checked... these chrome rings are EUR 50 each!![]()

I really did not mean new ones.... sometimes they are offered at Fleabay... and sometimes even at the Dutch Marktplaats. I've seen them there once or twice.Jeroen wrote:Just checked... these chrome rings are EUR 50 each!![]()
I'm not telling you what to do, just thinking what looks cool on a original early E21
