Paint the black mirrors?

Post by PeterCS »

I am having my white Baur repainted (Alpenwiess).

How do I redo my mirrors as they have lost their lustre.

Can they be repainted black? If so, i presume it is a mat finish.

Many thanks,

You probably won't get the original finish by painting them but you can etch prime and do any colour you like.

Perhaps first try a lot of plasticshine, plastic spray, bumper spray or similar to try and restore the plastic's color?

What Jeroen said. As a cheap, useable fix, a quick key and light coats of satin black paint. Had that done to my grills and they've still held their colour

I've used a heat gun before now on VW Golf black bumper plastics etc. not sure if this will work on an e21 though, mine are painted the same colour as the car...
