m20 bearing colours

guys

can anyone explain what the colours mean when ordering new engine bearings from bmw their doesnt appear to be any references to colours on my engine.

big end bearings - red/blue
main bearings - green/yellow/white

it lists a size and then different colours

any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated

I just did some puzzling myself replacing conrod bearings where the story was like this: determine required size first, per size you have reds that go on the bottom (rod cap side) and blue examples that go on top (conrod side). Don't mix up the caps.

Probably is something similar for the crank bearings? I found below article useful:
