Good one! For the powerful engines, until that time BMW used the CSL's. Now they decided to fit a extremely powerful engine in the smaller (E21) chassis. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll refrase that!

Not some colour coded Image 600's, if I had the money that would be the way I'd go :smoke

haha like what you did there. Billet 600 are how alpina wheels should have looked like from the beginning. I hate the way that a cast one piece wheel costs so much when compared to a wheel honed from a solid billet and crafted to fit a car / owners requirements costs not that much more.

Well the ones I have are "billet 47" - they aren't new new. They are Nearly new. I'm not even sure they will look ok on my car. They are on the big side of reasonableness.

I think you may be right that the 47 may not suit an E21 but they would look awesome on an E30 M3.

Well yesterday I started my e21 for the first time in 2 years, but now with twice the horsepower than it left the factory with. Now just the bottom end conversion to do then I'm knocking on the door of s50 power but lighter and at half the cost.

It was a good feeling I can tell you knowing my highly modified engine loom still worked. :D

Maybe I should start on of those build threads. Humm

Yesterday removed central dash panel (vdo watch, lighter, fan and heater switches).
This time I did it in 5 minutes time (some may remember, it took me about 2 hours the last time!!!)
Last time I did not have a look at the watch, (I just cleaned the rest and used the soldering iron to reconnect some cut bulb wires etc.)
So, when everything was back in place, the dash at night looked like new again!!! Except for the watch....
Big, annoying difference...So yesterday found some time to take it out again for inspection.
One of the two bulbs is dead...
Now waiting to have a new bulb in order to put everything back in place again.
