Cleaning The Original Carb

Post by E21 Addict »

Hello Hello

I recently done a major service to the E21 (Oils, spark plugs, filters etc)
Now looking at the original carb.....I am looking to give it a clean but without messing with it as i installed K&N filter an also my MPG has gone down !!
so looking to put some liquid in the fuel tank and wait for magic to happen ? will this do the trick ? if yes, then which one is best ? REDEX ?

Much appreciated

Best way is to deassemble it and let it soak in thinner, then clean the parts in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Buy a revision set, with gaskets and all, and build it up again.

Debatable whether it will do anything really - if it's really gummed up in there it would be best to disassemble as Wilmo says. And if you'r egoing to do that you might aswell just fit a Weber!
